Bill O'Reilly Revives "War On Christmas" Segment

  1. Oh Bill, you manufacture controversies like this because you have no other way of distinguishing yourself. Meanwhile, actual news of the type on the marquee goes unexamined but in the most superficial way. The Right is out of ideas. O'Reilly would have all such issues decided by majority rule, as long as he's in the majority. And the minority is oppressive only because he's not one of them and is incapable of walking in someone else's shoes. Well, tough balls. The majority of people in the U.S. may be Christian, but our government is a secular democracy. The majority may rule, but not at the expense of minority rights. As such, the government has no business tacitly endorsing trees of any kind (Halloween or 4th of July, gay or straight) by festooning our public places with bunting. Get rid of it. I enjoy the familial ritual of Christmas as much as anybody. I have already hung my lights. But I keep it to myself. I am not so insecure that I need to hang them from the highest public monument.
